Welcome
to Namco Arcade. We
appreciate your interest in your child's
visits to this site, and we have
prepared this guide to give you full
information about this site, what
information we collect, how we use it,
as well as details about our ESAFE
Namco system that we use to rate and
control the site. Let's start with
the information we collect and how we
use it. Our Feedback
Forms:
Our feedback forms will often ask
for a full name, email address, date of
birth, and give the option of providing
a full address. If your child
fills out the address portion of the
feedback form, it automatically deletes
that from the email which is generated
and then sent to us. We do not share
this information outside of the company,
and any feedback forms (or employment
applications) sent to us via any of
these forms is used only to respond to
any questions, comments, or other
appropriate use based on the form (such
as contacting regarding
employment). We do not share or
offer any lists to outside companies
that are based off of information from
our feedback forms, including
demographics. The information
remains confidential on all levels. User
Profiles : Basic Registration
To register a profile with us, we
ask for full name, email address, and
date of birth. The reason for
asking for this information is so that
we may identify the users that register
with us.
The full name
is asked for so that should you as a
parent ever want to find out if your
child has a profile with us that you did
not authorize, we may find that profile.
The email
address is used to send the registration
confirmation notice, as well as to
contact the user regarding any issues
that may arise through use of this site.
Date of birth
is asked for to required so that we may
determine the age of any users.
Child's profiles are defaulted to
require parental approval, and our email
use settings are then recorded to not
share or subscribe to any email list
regardless of what they choose.
This gives you as a parent the
opportunity to decide their email
settings.
A child's
registration will generate a parental
approval form that we must receive to
activate their profile, and allows you
to review important information
regarding their profile. Once we
receive the form, we assign you a
Parental Username and password which are
then linked to your child's profile so
that any changes they make to their
profile require your approval.
The basic
profile registration also asks for an ESAFE
Mode choice. We will explain
more about this below. User
Profiles : Email Lists
We currently have four email lists
that may be subscribed to. By
default, a child's profile is set not to
subscribe to any of them. Below is
pertinent information about each one so
that you may know fully how each is
used, and what subscribing to each one
would mean.
Site
Information List • This list
allows us to contact your child with
information regarding events or
information made available upon this
site. We do not share subscribers
to this list outside of the company, and
the list is used only in reference to
this website.
Outside
Entertainment Company List • On
occasion we may make our email list
available to outside entertainment
companies. If your child
subscribes to this list, we share their
first and last name and their email
address. We do not share your
child's date of birth, though the lists
may be tailored to a certain age group,
for instance ages 10 to 13 or 17 to 24,
etc. No other information is
provided, nor do we provide information
of non-subscribers. We require
that any company that utilizes a list
from us provide you a method to remove
yourself from their email list. If
you ever want to know if we have shared
your email address with an outside
company, you may contact us at webmaster@namcoarcade.com
for full disclosure of any companies we
have shared your information with.
Game Sales
Update List • We make available a
list of used games for sale on our
website. By subscribing to this
list, your child will receive an
automated notification any time the game
sales list is updated. This list
is not shared outside of the company,
and is used only for the game sales list
notification.
eGamer
Newsletter • We do not currently
publish this newsletter, but we intend
to do so sometime this year. This
newsletter may contain outside
entertainment advertising, though we do
not share subscriber information with
those who advertise in this newsletter.
Removal From
Lists • Each email sent to your
child from any of these lists will
include a link that can be clicked to
remove them permanently from any of
these lists. In addition, you
always have the ability to update your
child's profile to remove them from
these lists. You may also email webmaster@namcoarcade.com
to request removal from any and all
email lists. User
Profiles : Contests
The first time your child attempts
to register in a contest, a screen will
come up asking for additional
information that will be recorded in
their profile. Among this
information is your child's address, and
whether we may share it with outside
companies. In order for a child to
update this information, your Parental
Username and password will be required
so that you may decide what information
is provided.
We do not
require that the address be filled in or
that you allow us to share it in order
to register for contests. Should
your child win, we will contact them via
email for their address if it is not on
file. The address sent to us via
email will be used for the purpose of
sending the prize only, and will not be
recorded in the user database. The
only time it is recorded in the user
database is if you give provide the
information. By default, sharing
your child's address with outside
companies is set to not share, and
again, we do not require sharing of the
address to register or win. User
Profiles : Discussion Forum
We have a discussion forum available
for use online. The first time
your child attempts to access the forum,
a screen will come up asking for
additional settings and information that
will be recorded in their profile.
As with other areas, your Parental
Username and password will be required
to complete any changes to your child's
profile. Below is some important
information you should be aware of when
filling in that portion of your child's
profile, and about the forum itself:
Signature
and Profile • We allow users to
record both a "signature" and
a profile about themselves into our
database that is readily accessible to
all users of the discussion forum.
While we discourage the recording of any
personal information such as full name
or age or anything of the like,
realistically there is no way to police
such information, and so we encourage
you to assist your child in the creation
of both. If we do come across in
our moderation of the forums any profile
or signature that shares personal
information, we do remove it from the
profile, but again, it is not a
fool-proof process.
Email
Address and ICQ Number • We allow
users to decide whether their email
address is readily available to users of
the forum, and to share their ICQ
number. If you do not wish your
child's information to be available to
others, simply choose not to, and make
sure that the ICQ number is set to
0. Should you choose to allow
others to view either, all users of the
forum will have access to both.
Users of the
Forum, and Discussion Topics •
While we strive to keep the forums of a
family friendly nature, it is possible
that more sensitive topics will
arise. We strictly prohibit
pornography, linking to illegal content
sites or adult content sites, and we
have a filter in place that prevents
most swear words from appearing as such
in posts. However, we do not
always immediately catch such posts when
they are first created, and so it is
possible that your child may view such a
post prior to us being able to delete
it. We do take violations to our
Forum Rules of Conduct seriously, and
will ban users from the forum for
violating them. This is an
"after the fact" solution, but
there is no way to prevent such from
occurring up-front. In addition,
you should be aware that while we
discourage and actively delete personal
information from being included in
posts, it is possible for your child to
provide information through this forums
that would be available to other
people. We always encourage
parental guidance in using our forums.
Private
Messages • We have a private
message system that allows users of our
forum to message each other in
private. We do not encourage
sharing of personal information through
these private messages, but we do not
actively moderate them either.
Should a user complain of a message that
violates the rules of conduct, we do
investigate, and abuse of the private
message system can lead to being
banned. We also provide a way to
prevent further messages from individual
users so that your child does not have
to receive messages from people that
they do not wish to. Finally,
should you not want your child to have
access to the private message system,
you may choose that in their
profile. By default, it is set to
off, and must be enabled to use the
system. ESAFE Namco
System:
The ESAFE Namco system is a system
of ratings for our downloads, game tips,
and news articles. We base this
rating on industry standards for arcade
games (the Coin
Operated Video-Game Parental Advisory
System), home console video games
(the Entertainment
Software Rating Board), and movies
(the Motion
Picture Association of America).
In addition, we have general ratings
that we use our judgment on to place
them in an appropriate category.
There are four ESAFE levels as follows:
Mode One
• This is identified by the color
green on ratings, and contains material
that meets the following ratings:
arcade games rated as Suitable for All
Ages, console games that are rated for
Everyone or Early Childhood, and movies
that are rated G for General Audiences.
Mode Two •
This is identified by the color yellow
on ratings, and contains material that
meets the following ratings:
arcade games that contain Mild Animated
Violence or Mild Language, console games
that are rated T for Teen, or movies
that are rated PG for Parental Guidance.
Mode Three
• This is identified by the color
orange on ratings, and contains material
that meets the following ratings:
arcade games that contain Mild Sexual
Content or Mild Life-Like Violence or
that are not yet rated, console games
that are rated M for Mature or are not
yet rated, and movies that are rated
PG-13 for Parental Guidance under the
age of 13.
Mode Four •
This is identified by the color orange
on ratings, and contains material that
meets the following ratings:
arcade games that contain Strong
Animated Violence, Strong Life-Like
Violence, Strong Sexual Content, or
Strong Language, console games that are
rated AO for Adults Only, and movies
that are rated R for Restricted, NC-17
for No Children Under 17, or that are
not yet rated.
All of our news
articles, downloads, and game tips are
rated to appear in a minimum mode or
higher. This means an article
rated mode 3 will only appear to users
that are registered with mode 3 or mode
4 access, and will be blocked by the
ESAFE system otherwise.
You can always
tell what ESAFE mode you are in by
looking at the upper right hand
corner. If you are not logged in,
you will see a green ESAFE Namco logo
with the words Please Login.
Otherwise, you will see a green, yellow,
orange, or red ESAFE Namco logo with the
words ESAFE Mode 1, 2, 3, or 4 next to
it. You may always change your
child's ESAFE mode by updating their
profile, or requesting that we do so. Removal
of Profile and Information:
If at any time you wish for us to
delete your child's profile, simply
contact us via email, and we will do
so. You may make any request at
any time, and we will honor it
immediately. From removal from
mailing lists to blocking use of the
forum, to complete deletion of the
profile, we will take care of any
concerns you have. In addition,
should you wish us to set it up that
your child may not re-register, we will
flag their IP and email address to
prevent further registration (and that
email address will be kept on file only
to prevent further registration, and
will not be contacted for any purpose
nor shared with any outside company). Questions
and Concerns:
Should you have any questions or
concerns about this site or any of the
information provided, please feel free

information is at the upper right of
this page. If you came
